This Hinsdale, Illinois project was part of a larger basement remodel designed for entertaining. While the homeowners had selected many of the finishes, the wine room and bar areas still required custom solutions. Therefore, our focus was to create spaces that balanced storage, function, and visual impact.

We designed and built a custom, temperature-controlled wine room using mahogany. This wood species features a straight, even grain, which works especially well in enclosed spaces. As a result, the wine room feels warm and refined rather than visually busy. Custom wine racking lines the walls and maximizes storage while keeping each bottle easy to view and access.

In addition, the homeowners had already sourced a reclaimed wood door for the wine room entry. We carefully finished and installed the door so it would integrate seamlessly with the surrounding basement design. This detail adds character while reinforcing the custom nature of the space.

Adjacent to the wine room, we built custom basement bar cabinetry to support entertaining. The bar offers generous storage and prep space, making it easy to host gatherings.
