Custom Fireplace Cabinetry Remodel in Chicago, Illinois

Modern Built-In Designed for Storage, Display, and Everyday Living

This Chicago living room remodel transformed a blank wall into a dramatic built-in feature anchored by a custom quartz fireplace surround. The homeowners wanted a space that combined functional storage, decorative display, and a clean, elevated aesthetic. We designed full-height cabinetry extending to the ceiling, creating a seamless architectural presence that frames the room beautifully.

Open shelving with warm wood accents adds balance and allows for curated styling, while closed cabinetry below provides discreet storage for electronics, media, and everyday items. In the center, we crafted a bold Borgini Nova quartz surround to complement the electric fireplace the homeowners installed, giving the room a sophisticated focal point.

Finished in a rich Sherwin Williams Urban Bronze, this built-in brings depth, character, and cozy modern elegance—turning an empty wall into a striking, functional centerpiece for the home.
